… have a cuppa with friends at The Big Brew Up 2011.
The Big Brew Up is organised to raise money for SSAFA Forces Help, but twice as nice is that you can do that whilst having a nice cuppa with friends, family, colleagues! Every year in October Cuppa Tea events are organised everywhere, this year between the 3rd – 9th of October. The 5th of October there’s a Big Brew Up event at Soho square with tea serverd and cup cakes from Hummingbird Bakery. So all I can say is: “Drink tea and do good”!
5th October, 11 – 2.30pm, Soho square

…explore The Museum of Everything!
Their exhibitions sound amazing and they have a brilliant website too. The Museum of everything focusses on self taught artists and is located in Selfridges – what a lovely location… Exhibition #4 is open now and will end the 25th of October. Another exhibition, nr. #4.1, will open the 12th of October in the Old Selfridges Hotel. Apart from the exhibitions there’s workshops to attend (for more information have a look at the website).
After a visit I’d probably get stuck in the museum shop, (as I always do whenever I’m in a museum) of course called The Shop of Everything. You can have a look at what they sell on their website: from cards saying “Sorry for Everything” to the “Bag of Everything”, I love it!
So yes, go go GO!
…stop by at the living Van Gogh painting at Trafalgar square. Have you seen it yet? I have, in July and then it looked like this…
I wonder what it looks like by now!
It’s your last chance to see it; the painting will be shown until the end of October 2011.
The painting was made of 26 varieties of plants “in an attempt to help The National Gallery become greener”… I love projects like these.
The living Van Gogh can be found just outside the National, on the left!

…have dinner during the London Restaurant Festival (3rd – 17th October) and certainly sign up for some of the Fringe activities, which are (very matching) called the “Side – order”! Pupquizes, chocolate tours; just to mention a few.
I’d have missed the Cheese Masterclass – yes I’m Dutch – at Pizza East, which was tonight… But to celebrate the festival I’d go for a pizza at Pizza East in Shoreditch anyway: Great location, Great atmosphere and not to forget… Great pizza’s!
…go for a dance at the 2 year Anniversary of the Human Error Club on Friday the 14th of October – whoohoo!
93 Feet East
…block the evening of the 7th of October in my agenda! ‘Cause that evening I’d be at the East Wintergarden (Canary Wharf), first row at a concert of the Penguin Café Orchestra – oh, how I wish I lived in London right now…. I strongly advice you to go, just do it!

…go to The Water Poet (yes, I like that place. A lot!) on the 12th of October for “a night of theatre and film programmed by Miscellany Theatre Productions featuring new and developing work from emerging talent”. Doesn’t that sound promising?

…go to the Photofair in Spitalfields Traders Market on Saturday the 8th. I love photo’s – one shot often says more than a thousand words.
…make sure I’d get some proper Fish ‘n Chips at Poppies. This is something everybody should do at least once when in London – step back in time and have chips at Poppies. Poppies has been serving fish ‘n chips in the East End since 1945! Gosh…. No time to sit down? No worries, they have take away as well and you’ll get your portion in a simply fabulous take away wrapper (really, after finishing your chips, you’d wanna frame the wrapper)! Yumyumyum…
